Brochure about bicycle use and bicycle policy in the Netherlands, published by the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management and primarily intended for its international relations. Information about the organisation and substance of Dutch bicycle policy is often requested. This was not available, however, even though the organisation of the policy (with a small direct role for the government and a strong decentralisation and knowledge function) is unique.
The brochure offers compact information about bicycle use, traffic safety, the Dutch approach and concrete measures, supplemented with 26 examples from all over the country and many photos. The brochure is based on information from the Bicycle Traffic Policy Indicator (Fietsberaad publication 9).
